This is just a general observation in the short time I have been a member of this chat group

Everybody's situation is different in their approach to what requirements there are. People's opinions differ in accordance with their needs , whether they are married or single or which bank may be best or worst Etc. we all have to play the Thai game of satisfying immigration paperwork and the requirements of being able to stay long term in this wonderful country. As long as it works for our differing situations , I don't see a problem. It's great that there are many people offering opinions and advice. Best wishes to everyone

800k, not 900k. If you can't afford 800k in a bank account after you've been working let's say 35 years or so, then you didn't save very much during those years. And you can actually spend up to 400k out of those 800k during 7 months every year and then top it up again for next 1 year extension. Stop whining just because you can't afford it.

I listened to some advice from people here and a short consultation from a visa agent

I have visited Kasikorn Bank in market village Hua Hin and after 45 minutes I am now a proud owner of a bank account. They were lovely and didn't question any of my paperwork. They tried to sell me house insurance but I have declined until I do some research in this matter. Any advice would be welcomed

You're totalt correct. Do it the way immigration and your bank requires and your life will be much easier. Strange and sometimes illogical requirements is not something to have an heart attack over. 😎
