Hello all. New to this group.

Coming to Thailand February 01.

Coming from Canada.

Entering on exemption stamp good for 30 days.

Fully vaccinated.

Intend on applying for long stay visa.

Meet requirements. Fully vaccinated

1. Return ticket or one-way? Pros / cons? Different airline than original flight or?

2. How long after I arrive in Thailand can I apply for long stay visa?

3. I can extend my exemption stamp one time, correct?

Trying to get it straight in my head. ๐Ÿ˜€. So much conflicting advice / opinions.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A new member seeks advice on entering Thailand on a 30-day exemption stamp, expressing concerns about travel documentation, the timeline for applying for a long stay visa, and the rules regarding extensions. A commenter highlights the necessity of proof of onward travel to board the flight when entering on an exemption stamp.

If you enter with visa exempt, your airline will not allow you to board without showing proof of onward travel out of Thailand within the 30 days of entry. The method does not matter, you can even buy a bus ticket out of Thailand despite land borders being closed, you just have to show something.
