What are the best options for getting an RT-PCR test in the US, and do I need to take it specifically at a lab?

Does anyone have any recommendations for RT-PCR tests in the US? I was also wondering if the test needed to be done specifically in a lab? I found a local clinic that offers the test but this is done in their office not at a lab. Does that make a difference?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation provides various recommendations for RT-PCR testing in the US. Users suggest options like CVS and Everlywell for testing. They confirm that tests can be done in clinics or doctor's offices as long as a certificate with the necessary details (date, time, and negative result) is provided. Many found timely results that were accepted for travel purposes in Thailand.

I used CVS to do mine. They said results in 1-2 days, so I scheduled it for a Monday morning (my flight was Wednesday early afternoon). Got the results back Tuesday evening, no problem. Each leg of my trip back and immigration in Thailand accepted the results without issue. The paper clearly states the date and time of the test, the doctor, and the results.

Any clinic, hospital , or lab is fine as long as they can give you a certificate showing Rt-Pcr the date and time of results and a negative result

We used CVS, you can do them in a Dr's office, we did both.. Flight was changed..

Check out Everlywell (google it). Varity of tests, dunno if your specific test is offered. If not, call your health department and ask. They should know.
