Hello, Are they still doing the pcr test at Suvarnabhumi airport? I called the number for the clinic there and get no answer. I’m traveling back to USA tomarrow and need a pcr test within 1 day of leaving.

Thankyou in advance for any replies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The availability of PCR tests at Suvarnabhumi Airport has been confirmed with varying responses. While some users noted that PCR tests could be available at the clinic, it was also mentioned that antigen tests (ATK) are acceptable for entry into the USA and are cheaper and faster. One commenter stated that RT-PCR tests are available for 1200 baht, with same-day results for tests done before 11 am. An antigen test costs 250 baht with a medical certificate and is available with 15 minutes waiting time. Overall, travelers may not need a PCR and can opt for an antigen test instead.

Just checked the price at Suvarnabhumi airport, it's now only 250 bahts with medical certificate, 150 without

OK, thanks, slightly cheaper than Donna Robinson's, 500 bahts

I don't think they do PCR at the airport because those take a long time. ATK only at the airport, but that should be fine since that's all you need for the US.

I asked at the airport testing service, RT-PCR tests are available for 1200 bahts, results are given the same day if test is done before 11 am, otherwise next day. Antigen tests cost 250 bahts with medical certificate, 150 bahts without, 15 minutes waiting time

I recall seeing an info graphic about PCR tests at the airport. If you went between such and such a time you’d get your results by xxx time. Didn’t save it, so I’m not sure if they still do it or don’t.

Just fyi… unless your transit country or airline requires it a PCR is not required. It’s only ATK. My wife flew recently BKK, to Doha and on to DFW and only needed ATK within 24 hours. A lot cheaper and faster.

within 24 hours, but on Qatar website they say one day before. Which would be possibly more than 24 hours.

that’s right. I think it was calendar day before or something like that. Luckily for her the flight was late night. She went that afternoon to a clinic. 20 minutes later she’s all good with a negative test and certificate.

It doesn't need to be a PCR, it can also be an antigen test. A lot cheaper and faster. Also, just in case you are not aware the test can be taken anytime on the day before departure. Meaning it can be more than 24 hours.
