Hi, can someone recommend a Thai tax advisor? I'm planning on moving from the US to Thailand and need to understand the tax implications. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for a tax advisor in Thailand, particularly in relation to the tax implications of moving from the US. Several commenters provided suggestions, including a Thai resident in the US who specializes in tax services for Americans moving abroad, as well as a recommendation for American International Tax Advisors. There was also a mention of free consultations and experiences shared by long-term expats regarding their own tax filing.

Thanks Brad. Assuming you are a Thai tax resident and you're taking dispersements from your 401K, how did/do you handle the Thai tax liability?

If you are on VA disability, and military retirement, probably none.

I used American International Tax Advisors last year. You can get a free 30 minute consultation with them.

Hi Pete, I’m Thai and based in Los Angeles. I’m a registered U.S. Tax Preparer (IRS Authorized e-file Provider & PTIN holder) and specialize in helping Americans who are moving abroad, including Thailand. I can guide you on the U.S. tax obligations and how they interact with Thai rules. For the Thai side, you’ll still want a local advisor in Thailand, but I can make sure you stay compliant with the IRS and avoid surprises.

You can check my credentials here:
