TLDR : Answer Summary
Australians living in Thailand suggest applying for the OX visa through the Sydney consulate for a five-year entry stamp without needing to transfer funds into Thailand. They recommend obtaining any visa before arrival, such as the Non-O visa, which can be applied for online. Some expats mention using agents to facilitate the transition to a retirement visa.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

Yeah, pay thousands of baht to an agent when it's a simple procedure in her own country and gets a five year stamp

Definitely get a visa before you get here!

Even if itโ€™s just the initial Non O (90 days) which can now be done online!

It's a no-brainer. Apply for the OX visa though the SYDNEY consulate. Get a five year entry stamp, and don't have to transfer any money into Thailand

I agree with you Roberto. I am working on it right now but have got a challenge to get a health insurance while in Canada. I tried to contact the listed companies on the consulate website but didnโ€™t work well. Any good advice? Very much appreciated
