Just booked an appointment in Vientiane Consulate. The time booked is between 9-12. Does it still get rammed to the rafters or is it a steady flow of people now?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Vientiane Consulate's appointment system appears to have improved crowd management, with reports of a steady flow of visitors rather than overwhelming numbers. Attendees have shared experiences of shorter wait times, especially for early arrivals, and suggest that going on a Friday could be beneficial. While typically no proof of flight is required for a tourist visa, it seems practices can vary depending on individual circumstances.

Go on a Friday and stay the weekend, there's still 72 slots left now. I'll be there in 8 hours or so. I'm #059. I'll give the full SP tomorrow.

I went this morning, my queue number was 87 but I was there before opening and after less than 30’ I was out because many people were still not there!

Was there today. Can’t say it’s any better organised. But it works.

normally Vientiane does not ask for any proof if you apply for a Tourist Visa, but i've seen reports of people after back to back visa exempt entry, tourist visa are asked some question.

Ben Chesters won’t do much good to go in the morning
I’ll tell you more on this tomorrow. I have one tourist visa for the past 12 months and applied for another today. They looked at my passport and seemed ok with it. BUT, I never paid the fee. Will go back in the morning when I’ve finished drinking every scrap of BeerLao I can get my hands on.

Does Vientiane require proof of flight out of Thailand for tourist visa request?

Which day of the week are you planning to go to the Consulate? That has lots to do with the numbers of people.

No not at all, you go in number so if for example your 119 they call the numbers up in bunch if that makes sense (0-20, 20-40 ect) Your in and out now
