good morning all. Just a quick Q to ask if the Thai consulate in Savannakhet is open on Wed 25th and Thurs 26th October this month? I know the 23rd closed according to online but not sure about those 2 days. Cheers all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai consulate in Savannakhet is confirmed to be open on October 25th and 26th, 2017, despite being closed on other specified days like the 23rd. However, it is advised to avoid visiting immediately after a closure, due to potential backlogs. The community suggests handling visa-related matters earlier in the month if possible.

Okay so these are the dates that the savannaket consulate is closed, however that the day after is not the best time to go as there will be a backlog of applicants, my opinion would be to go well before or well after.

I can only find lists more than 9 years old, not sure they are still in use and it even came up with no minimum salary for teachers. 40.000 Thb is for Extension based on marriage. So now have to wait for the expert,

By reading the posts I guess. Most of them have some text with: I need, I want or I go on day ...... and they do not really care Immigration rules, regulations and closing times.

I would suggest ANYONE needing to do visa stuff, get it done the week before. There is no sense waiting until the last second and then getting caught out IF there are additional closure dates (which at this time there are NOT)..

Right now the days listed on that paper are the ONLY dates that the thai consulates in Vientiane and Savannakhet are closed.

Those days are the 13th & the 23rd.

, IF you're getting an extension of a visa you'd do that at the thai immigration office inside the country, and they are definitely closed the 26th. :/

The days listed are the ONLY days they're closed. This is just so people don't get stuck there an extra day (or more) seeing as it takes two days get your passport back; turn it in one morning, pick it up the next afternoon.
