Hey all, so I'm on a Muay Thai visa, I have already been in country on it for over a year.

I have a chronic illness and looked into treatment here. Treatment works out to about 75k baht per year with monthly or twice monthly doctors visits. This seems like it would fulfil the requirements of the medical DTV.

Has any one changed or know if it's possible to change without doing the whole DTV again?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the possibility of changing a Muay Thai visa to a medical visa due to health reasons. Many commenters suggest not changing the visa, emphasizing that the current DTV visa is beneficial and lasts for five years. They advise that the existing visa allows flexibility in fulfilling its requirements without needing to apply for a new one, especially when the individual may not be able to continue Muay Thai training due to health issues.

As long as you can do a few basic Muay Thai combos at the Airport if Immigration ever asks you

DON'T change your current DTV visa. It's good for five years.

Once you have the visa there is no need to change the reason.

OP
Anonymous participant 256 the reason I want to change to medical is because I might not be able to continue Muay Thai. So being able to fulfil my visa obligations via medical gives me an "out" if I can't continue training.

Anonymous participant stop being foolish. You can participate in any of the activities that a DTV has a scheme for, and be considered legit. You can change jobs change gyms change courses change doctors.

Anonymous participant they don't check participation in the Muay Thai. As much as I'm against people getting it for no reason, I wouldn't advise you change it. More hassle than needed
