Getting a bit concerned about my plans and would appreciate some input
I have been to Thailand 3 times since October last year , 10 days and then 21 days twice . Last visit was May/ June
Now I plan to travel at the end of this month with an itinerary of Chiang Mai for a week then fly Bkk to Hanoi spend a week near Sapa , then back to Thailand for a week in Bangkok
How will the visa (s ) work and do you see snags ? I'm on South African passport and flying in and out of Bkk on Emirates . Will have return flight issued and hotel booked in Chiang Mai

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a South African passport, seeks advice on managing visas for a trip that includes a week in Chiang Mai, a week in Hanoi near Sapa, and a return to Bangkok. Previous visits to Thailand total about 60 days in the last year, which commenters believe are acceptable for short visits. Key advice includes having proof of onward travel to Vietnam and back to South Africa when entering Thailand.
That's about 60 days within the last year. That's not excessive.
Just make sure when you arrive the first time you have your flight to Vietnam ready to show if they ask about when you are leaving. And then the 2nd time when you return from Vietnam, make sure you have your flight back to South Africa (or wherever it is you are traveling to next) available in the event they ask that time.
