How is the 90-day period calculated for my non-O visa in Thailand?

Hello,
I have a valid initial non O visa, before the 12 months extension, do I get 90 days from the day I enter Thailand? Or 90 days from my approval date.
As the visa tells me it is valid until 26th of August as it was issued yesterday, however I'm not sure if this means that this is the validity on the period of time I am allowed to enter the kingdom.
