How can I successfully obtain a Retirement Non-O visa in Thailand?

Sorry to ruin it for everyone, I completed my Retirement Non-O visa yesterday and the hardest part of this whole process had been waiting in line at the bank to get my letter and bank statements to take to the Visa office. I cannot say enough about the help I received along the way. I’m sorry that so many people have problems with the process but I wanted to shine a little light of hope that it can happen with patience and just having faith in the system. Only downside was yesterday was a Buddhist holiday so the bar was closed and I couldn’t go celebrate.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully completed the process of obtaining a Retirement Non-O visa and shares their experience, highlighting that patience and faith in the system were key to their success. They mention that waiting in line at the bank for necessary documents was the most challenging part, and they encourage others, despite common complaints about the process. Maybe you need an agent to find a bar open on a holiday also next time 555

You used an agent, of course it's easy, Tosser. Nothing too see here.

You could though have prepared for the holiday ahead of time and stocked your fridge with bottles of vitamin water of a brownish colour.

you picked a bad day to visit the bank. It was a holiday yesterday. I never visit a bank right after a sunday or after a holiday

Glad it all went smoothly for you. Im just waiting on my extension being granted, hopefully get it any day now. You'll just have to drink beers tonight instead!

I had a similar experience seamless no problems apart from the fact that I didn’t bring a witness, no problem we can do on the house visit

BB REFUSED TO GIVE US A LETTER

This person is talking about a letter to use for 12 monthly transfers. Multiple Bangkok Bank branches have refused to issue this anymore, and without it they cannot get their extension.

Though it's ultimately lazy immigration officers that require this. They do not want to go through the bank statement and find the 12 transfers, so they want the bank to put them all in a letter. Bangkok Bank has said they will no longer do this at some branches.

Our branch says they will no longer give us a letter on a statement. Jomtien Immigration will not look through the statement to check we have sent over the required amount each month. They want a letter

That could shut up some of the regular complainers on here. The thing about complainers is that they post everything on social media to try and get sympathy or try and fuck others day up. The non- complainers usually sort things out themself and get on with life without wanting somebody to hold their hand. Well done mate, so good to be positive 👍

Plenty of bars were still serving inside, using opaque cups. Just saying...

Sam I see you looked at agents and different options before. Did you end up doing it yourself?

I went with an agent. I had the money, it wasn’t that much when you consider. I’m retired and I don’t need to deal with it if someone else can save me the headache. You can defend yourself in court if you want but don’t you feel safer having a lawyer do it for you.

its very much an each to your own pal, and some people like agents to take the pressure off them .. Some agents are good ..some just take the piss.
