TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience applying for a DTV visa in Taipei for a Muay Thai course. They provided a timeline detailing their application submission, request for additional documents, and approval. Their financial background included significant savings and passive monthly income, and the interview focused on their motivations for studying Muay Thai, their travel history, and their intent to not work while in Thailand.
When I applied in Taipei in person (Workcation) , there were a few SPers who were told the course was too short or they needed to provide more info on finances/employment. Taiwan seemed stricter on Softpower applicants than other embassies. You are right though; a comprehensive application plus decent income/savings helps a lot with decision making.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
Lucky Day for your obtaining the DTV visa with ONLY 3 months course of study. Several Thai Embassy's or Consulates are issuing SETV single entry tourist visa instead of the DTV visa. As 90 days of the SETV is sufficient for 3 months of the course.
