Hopefully this is the right group to post this here.

Question:

I have a Thai phone I got back in feb 2021. I returned to the USA and of course can’t add mins in USA. I’m back now and would like to refill the old SIM cards since those numbers are what my Thailand people have.

One: how can I find the number to reload if I lost the original packaging with the number on it. 🤦🏼‍♀️like a dummy.

Second: can I reload the old sim cards?? I guess that question should be first. Lol.

Any advice helpful 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

So happy to be back here in beautiful Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks help on how to refill their old Thai SIM card after losing the original packaging that contained their number. They ask if it's possible to reload the SIM cards and how to find their phone number. Several comments offer advice, including checking the network used, using specific codes to retrieve the number, and methods to keep the SIM active, such as topping up monthly or having a friend assist. Additionally, some mention that if a significant period has passed since the SIM was last used, reactivation may involve visiting a store or getting a new SIM.

Just ask your Thai friends for your number. If you have a Thai banking app and account you refill every month with B10 to keep the number active or ask a friend to send you B 10 per month air time.

Surely it would be easy enough to contact one of your “Thailand people” who would have a record of your number? You should be able to top it up once you have the number.

If it is too long offline the sim might be locked. To reopen you need to go to a store dtac or true and if the number is not already with a new owner you can reactivate it.

I have the same problem,I return to Thailand early December after nearly two years away.

I contacted AIS customer services, was told need new SIM and number, due to 45 days elapsing since expiry.

Once you know your number you should be able to top up from here ...

With AIS you can topup to keep the Sim alive a year, other carriers not as long, many ways to do it for a small fee through topup services, or have a Thai friend topup your number monthly from their phone (same network) if you are out of the country, as little as 10 baht just to keep it active

dtac is 15bht per 180 days easy to keep you number just load up the days even from abroad if you have Thai bank and online app. I use Bangkok Bank app and easy to top up and that also gives you extra days. This is for pre paid dtac. Don’t know about if you were on a monthly plan

*121# most Thai Sims have embedded MME Google Thai sim MME codes

Check your phones sim contacts which will have some of these these codes which you can see in your phones contacts list

Load the old sim and see what network you’re connected to. Once you know Google their call centre number and get them to help you. They’ll be able to tell you your number, whether it’s still able to be topped up and how to.
