I’ve just gone through the process, submitted my application for Extended Stay - which has been accepted - had our visit from the Immigration police and have to go back to the Immigration Office on

to get my stamp.
I found the e-Visa process relatively easy although having worked in the computer industry for 20 years the portal itself is poor in terms of design and functionality.
My biggest frustration was providing all of the financial evidence to clearly demonstrate I had exceeded the 40K baht monthly income requirement for the past 12 months to only be told I also had to have 400K baht seasoned in my Thai bank account for 2 months. Thai law says EITHER OR not both, but it’s clear Immigration Offices want the 400K THB. My wife is from Sirindhorn and the Immigration Office there said the same thing.
Then I submitted all of the requested paperwork to the Ubon Immigration office based on the handout they gave me, only for them to ask for two documents which were not on their list. That delayed my application by a couple of days and was frustrating.
You do not need to pay an agent to do this. If you take your time and make sure you have all of the documents requested it is relatively easy to do yourself.
Agents try to make it sound more complex than it is.
