Already got my "close the loop Oct stamp for a TR-60 -> 30 day extension yesterday.

After the news from RB and Todd's post, headed back up there to MTT to try to wring the extra 30 days or so stamp adjustment. Arrived in the afternoon, no luck, doors CLOSED - they had shut down the office today after NOON due to "budget cuts"

Q: Is there any way to check if they shut down online or should I call ahead of time?

No biggie I went bicycle shopping in the area so not all lost :-)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently received a 30-day extension on their TR-60 visa but found the MTT office closed unexpectedly due to budget cuts. They inquired about how to check the office's status before visiting. Commenters suggest calling the office directly at 1178 for updates and note that closures could be related to fiscal year processes. It's advisable to wait a few days for offices to adapt to new immigration policies.

While the new amnesty decree was indeed published, I would give it a few days before immigration offices country wide are totally dialed in

They were closed at noon today for end of fiscal year reconciliation. They will be open as normal tomorrow. You should be able to call them up at 1178 and ask if they are open or not in the future.
