Has the limit on land border crossings been removed since the DTV introduction, and is it true that visa extensions are now 60 days instead of 30?

Since the DTV was introduced am i correct in thinking that land border crossings are now not limited to 2 per year ? think i seen a post about it on here somewhere.

Are visa extensions at local immigration now 60 days instead of 30 ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The limit on land border crossings has indeed been removed with the introduction of the 60-day visa exempt entry; it is now at the immigration officer's discretion. However, visa extensions remain at 30 days, not 60 days. It's important to be aware of individual immigration history, as those with problematic histories may face scrutiny.

Forget about border run. Im on visa extempt did my 2nd border run and they wanted to deport me to Malaysia. They stopped like 20 people and sent some back. I had to buy a ticket to Europe. So will get a DTV visa now. They dont want people on extempt. They want people on visa or 2 weeks tourist that comes once a year.

I don't spread lies. I rather warn people so they don't get deported. Yes and even that I had bank statements from 3 months + contract from when I sold my company. It was pure luck I could book a flight and they let me in. 1 time sure. But 2nd time you might have a nightmare so better get a Visa ... They stopped so many people on extempt.. 2 times border run for many.

if you have "bad" history of incoming in thailad ( ED, multiple entry, stay long time, .. ) , i suggest you to get a visa ..

The rules who stay i think is no more than 6 months in last 9 months in thailand

a friend 1 week ago, they don't want to let him come in, only 1 border run in the year ... but long time history, ed, business, last time without visa they say ..

Myself in July, before i get dtv, they don't want to let me come in, last time without visa they say ..

She explain me the rule of "no more than 6 months in last 9 months in thailand" without visa, and if you ask tourist visa, they will probably not deliver it following the same rule ! ( + when you ask tourist visa, it seems they take the date you ask the visa ( and not date arrival ) with the rule .. )

Nothing to do with the DTV but the 2 land border crossing limit per annum was removed with the introduction of the 60 day visa exempt entry. It's now at the discretion of the immigration officer you stand in front of, same as for flights. The extension remains at 30 days

Would just add that it has always been up to the discretion of the Thai Immigration Officer no matter where Port of Entry is, but always good to remind people....
