Hi, I'm going to cancel my workpermit and my visa to it. Do I need to go first to labour and then to immigration or the other way around?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To cancel your work permit and the associated visa, you should first visit the Ministry of Labor to cancel your work permit. After that, take the necessary documents to the Immigration Office to cancel your Extension of Stay that is based on your work permit.

First you go to the Ministry of Labor to cancel your Work Permit and with their papers you visit Immigration Office to cancel your Extension of Stay based on working.

Yeah that's what I meant. When I cancelled mine I was given 7 days to leave before the non b became void. So I just left and applied for a non -o visa in Vietnam. Worth knowing just in case Patrick doesn't meet the requirements.

There is NO leeway or grace period or what ever you want to call it. If you stop working you have to cancel your Extension of Stay based on working on that day. You can do in advance, so time enough to make travel arrangements. If your Extension is cancelled you can directly apply for a new Extension at the cost of 1.900 Thb, based on being over 50 or marriage as examples. But if you don't meet any of the requirements it will be NOT approved and you get 7 days to leave the country.

I think you get 7 days leeway to sort out your visa after you cancel the work permit at the Labour office.
