I’m coming to Thailand may 12th. I’m reading that the rt PCR may be changed from may 1st to a ATK but I don’t want to leave it to apply for my Thai pass as I dont want it to not come back in time. If I get my Thai pass and pay everything and it does change will I still have to do the RT-PCR On arrival or can I take the ATk? I’m not bothered about the money just the test itself.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the testing requirements for their upcoming trip to Thailand on May 12th, specifically whether they will need to take an RT-PCR test upon arrival or if they can use an ATK test if the regulations change after they apply for their Thai Pass. Previous comments indicate flexibility regarding test requirements and that travelers should await official announcements for confirmation.

I arrive 13 May. I booked a T&G package that’s refundable until 10 May so if the testing changes to ATK on arrival I can cancel it.

When I booked my ticket for November’21 in September I had to book 3 pcr’s and 7 days in Phuket. By the time I arrived I only did 1 pcr and could go straight to Khao Lak, got refunds for everything and entered on the original COE I applied for (by then they had transitioned to the ThailandPass)

You have to wait for the official announcement, tentatively after Songkran /end of April, so u know if ATK test is acceptable in the scenario.

We had changes to the testing after we got our Thai Passes and it was fine. We got advise on the refund process and went ahead with the new testing requirements. No worries. Get your pass and if things change you'll still be ok to go with the new requirements 👍
