Can I travel to Cambodia alone to issue my DTV and then return to Thailand for my family's DTVs without exceeding a 10-day stay abroad?

Hello,

We are in Thailand. Is it possible for me to travel alone to Cambodia to issue my DTV, return to Thailand, and then, after one month, travel again with my wife and child to issue their DTVs based on mine?

We want to avoid staying abroad for more than 10 days. I understand that I need to first issue my DTV (up to 10 days) before theirs can be issued (another 10 days). This could mean staying abroad for 20 days total with the child, which we want to avoid.

Can you advise?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of traveling alone to Cambodia to issue their DTV visa and then returning to Thailand, followed by a subsequent trip with their wife and child to issue their DTVs. They aim to avoid a lengthy stay abroad, ideally limiting their total time outside of Thailand to 10 days. They express understanding that their own DTV must be processed first before their family's can be issued, potentially leading to a 20-day stay abroad if not managed correctly. A comment confirms that issuing visas can be done at different times and locations, but inquires about the nationalities involved, as processing times may vary.

Yes, technically you wouldn’t need to return to Cambodia when your wife and child traveled there, but assume you would want to go with them. It is two separate applications, so can be done at two separate times, even via different embassies/countries. What is you and your wive’s nationality? Some passports require much longer review/approval time
