Can I transition from using a visa agent to managing my visa independently after obtaining a non-A visa with consistent income?

I’ve seen conflicting information so a bit of clarity would be appreciated.

If I use a full service visa agent, resulting in a non A and essentially 15 months of visa. Can I then spend that 15 months importing 65k a month and apply for my next 12 months on my own using that evidence?

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the use of a full service visa agent for obtaining a non A visa in Thailand. Conflicting advice exists regarding whether one can switch from using an agent to applying for a visa renewal independently after demonstrating a monthly income of 65,000 baht. Comments indicate that if the visa agent is used merely for paperwork and the individual meets the financial requirements independently, they may not be obligated to rely on the agent for future renewals.

I have a buddy who used a agent in Jan 2024 got his 15 month visa then did the

thousand baht a month and just renewed his visa using that and he did the paperwork himself so certainly doable

You have to show thecmoney stayed in the account and never fell below the required amount . Then you can convert. So you have to pay the agent again at least for that.

If you use an agent to bypass the funds requirement then you’ll be stuck on the agent train until you enter on a clean stamp and start afresh.

If you use an agent just to push paper and bypass queues but fund the visa/extension yourself then there would be no reason that you’d have to use them in future.
