Sorry if this question has been asked, I'm blind and it's easier for me to ask.

Can I transfer from a 30 day visa exempt to a retirement visa without going out of Thailand?

I have all necessary documents and financial requirements, so I don't need an agent and my wife is to busy to call immigration :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can transfer from a 30-day visa exempt status to a retirement visa (NON-O) without leaving Thailand, provided you have at least 15 days remaining on your current visa. Requirements may vary by local immigration office, with some requiring a minimum of 15 days and others 21 days. It is recommended to check with your local immigration office for the latest information.

days, but a number of days are local immigration offices specific. Most offices require you to have 15 days or more for application but in Chiang Mai and some others 21 days (15 working days).

Go to your office to get the latest requirements for an initial in-country Non-O visa based on being over 50.

They speak English at most offices, you can call by yourself.

Here is a rough timeline to get an in-country visa then 1-year extension.
