Can I extend my 30-day visa exempt entry in Thailand and change my visa type?

ORIGINAL POSTER
Can someone advise me please. I entered Thailand on a 30 day Visa exempt, had it extended at immigration for 30 days and then did a Visa run(first of year). Now some body told me I can go back to immigration and extend another 30 days? Then do a further Visa run when that 30 days expires?

Is this true?

Aldo i have been coming to Thailand previously on one year retired visas and once on a multiple entry ... can I change my type of Visa based on that?

Thanks for any guidance on this🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can extend their 30-day visa exempt entry in Thailand for an additional 30 days at immigration and subsequently conduct another visa run. They also want to know if they can change their visa type considering their previous experience with long-term visas like the one-year retired visa and multiple-entry visas.
