I am thinking about applying for DTV through soft power activities. I have 500k thb in my account but I am unemployed, is it possible to still be approved for the visa? Does anyone have experience with this?

I will be applying from Australia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post asks if it's possible to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand while unemployed but with 500,000 THB in a bank account. Responses indicate that it is possible to apply under the soft power activities category; however, applicants should prepare to demonstrate how they will financially support themselves during their stay. It's emphasized to ensure all application details are accurate to avoid rejection.

Yes you can apply, make sure you’re course is 6 months or more and be aware they can ask you how you will support yourself during the validity of the visa

I applied in Jakarta as 'unemployed' under soft power and got approved without an issue. Not sure about Australia 🦘.

HumbleJanken thank you I appreciate you sharing your experience! Did the immigration officers ask you anything about it at the airport when you arrived?

I haven't used it yet. I'm travelling around Asia until late-Nov when I will return to Thailand.

But reading the reports around here, immigration in Bangkok doesn't seem to ask any questions. Chiang Mai on the other hand want to know even what you had for breakfast πŸ˜… (incl. showing ALL the documents submitted during application). So bear that in mind if you plan to fly into CM.

Yes, it's possible but will have to be careful if you apply DTV using the soft power pathway, depending on the immigration officer at the airport. I can share my experience with you as I have just got my DTV in August.

Then use search to see the specifics about applying in Australia.

And do read the Embassy website and the e-visa website thoroughly, including the manual in the topright corner
