I have type O visa want retirement visa money in bank has only been in 5 weeks can I still get visa
Answer summary
The post discusses the challenges faced by someone holding a type O visa who wants to apply for a retirement visa in Thailand but has only recently deposited the required funds into their bank account. The comments suggest that without having a Thai bank account, it is difficult to meet the financial requirements for the visa. Many recommend applying for a Non-O visa outside of Thailand to simplify the process. It is emphasized that funds need to remain deposited for a minimum duration before applying for the retirement visa.

No need to hire agent for non O

If you have 800 k or 65k per month pension then you will get non O

If you don’t have 800K THB equivalent no agent can get it non O

Simple

I made my non-o visa in my country (Canada), by myself, pretty straight foward! I received my one year retirement visa yesterday! I took an agent for my retirement visa and driver's license, at the end of the day 20 000 Bahts for everything, opening banks accounts and.... I am very happy, it is money well spent i think!

We are happy to provide consultation on retirement visas and help you open a Thai bank account with the trust of our officials. Even if you don't have 800,000 baht in your account, we can still show you proof. My friend from the Netherlands successfully did it.

I don't think you can successfully apply the retirement visa without agent domestically in Thailand. It is because there is no way you can open a bank account to deposit the money in

Ant W Tailor, in Thailand currently, no Thai bank acc and from all the comments here I won't be able to get one under the visa exemption. Will rethink strategy.

Your big problem is that you are not going to be able to open a bank account on a visa exempt stamp. It's not possible anymore. So you will both need to leave to a nearby country to apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa, once you get it return to Thailand and opening a bank account should be fairly straightforward. You'll each need a residence certificate from immigration and a Thai SIM registered against your passports before approaching a bank.

that’s the right way. It took me only tree days to complete the work you described. I recommend to ask for two bank accounts- one for the visa requirements and one for daily use with a bank card.

This is the way.

I will recommend Laos for nearby country to go to, to get the Non-Os from.

Had great success in Vientiane, Laos.

While you do have to pay for the application in-person at either location in Laos, the processing of the visa itself seems to be rather swift.
