TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post discusses the possibility of obtaining a DTV Soft Power visa in Thailand through golf training, rather than Muay Thai. Several comments provide mixed insights, indicating that while some people have succeeded with other sports like Frisbee Golf, there is skepticism regarding golf specifically qualifying as a soft power activity. Some participants suggest checking with recognized training programs or golf clubs for more information, while others share personal experiences and opinions about the visa's requirements.
the golf training would need to be supervised by a Thai government licensed company. It must be A TRAINING PROGRAM - as only "playing golf" is not a DTV activity. . . . . . I reckon if you ask around in golf clubs, you might find an answer to your question
Greg Alexander My Thai cousin did a Grad Dip in Golf Professional Mgt. One criteria was to have so many rounds of golf at scratch scores completed during the 3 years. It was well attended.
富田祥生 . . . . not unlikely . . however, we should really see if anyone has already succeeded . . . . why don't you ask this question in the big red DTV Facebook Group?
I wouldn't ask this question just because I wanted a visa. I asked because there were examples of people getting in through scuba diving and tennis academies. So I wanted to hear about other successful applicants. I don't want people to answer based solely on their own biases. I'm only asking those who have gotten in through sports other than Muay Thai.
