NEW TWIST TO RETIREMENT VISA EXTENSION?
Today I visited the Udon immigration office and told him that I intended to use the income-only method for funds verification when my extension expires in September.
I presented my bank books, copies of ATM withdrawals from a foreign source, deposit slips and documents from my home country verifying government and company pensions. I asked if that was all they would need in September.
The answer was “no.” Two separate officers told me I had to have a bank statement as well, verifying that these amounts came in every month.
I thought for the income-only method, that really the bank books and copies of those deposits would be sufficient. This is the first I’ve heard of needing a bank statement also.
I thought the additional bank statement was only for the 400,000-balance and 800,000-balance fund verification methods.
If indeed, a bank letter/statement is needed, can someone give an example of what it would say? The officers were a bit vague on this.
Could someone who uses the income-only method verify either way for me?
Appreciate your input,
John D.
