I was recently denied entry in BKK due to using the visa exemption on entry too many times. I’m now back in the Uk where I am a citizen.
I did left the kingdom twice last year, each time reset my visa.
I emailed the Thai embassy in London to ask if I could apply for a DTV visa (soft power) and they replied with a very confusing message. They stated I may not be approved for the DTV and that I should apply for a tourist visa. They also said my name is on a blacklist with local immigration.
I have never heard of someone being blacklisted after a denied entry, only after overstays (I have never) or breaking the law. Could it be the email is misunderstood with regards to the phrasing?
Any advice is greatly appreciated, I love spending time in the kingdom and have been a genuine tourist the whole time. Not working etc…
I read about the automatic 60 day tourist visa upon arrival BUT ive also read about applying for same but an E Visa online from home prior to arrival but which costs what $60 CAD?
So what at all is the point or advantage in paying for said visa over being granted one automatically once arrived?
Later this month am visiting Laos from Northern Thailand for 2 nights as advised so I can return to Thailandas my family visa expires. Can someone please tell me how many days you get 30 or 60 days - believe changed to 60 a few months back but want to check. Thank you
I’m curious if anyone here could share their experiences: how long did it take for your tourist eVisa to be approved after submitting your application? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I am from the Bahamas and applying through the Ottawa (Canada) embassy on the evisa site :)
Just seeing how possible to get a DTV visa here in UK. I read it can only be obtained from outside of Thailand . I have the requirements for this visa apart from Hospital Appointment and Dental appointment , both of which I do need, and /or a cooking Course which I would like very much ? It seems no one is willing to give appointments unless I'm actually in Thailand?
I have in the past, had retirement visas, as I'm well over 50, but as I now have to be back in Uk for a few months each year, the DTV is ideal.
Visa Exempt or Tourist visa with extension give 3 months, just need 5 or 6 months! I wouldn't want to do boarder bounce. And yes of course there's the retirement visa if DTV not possible . Many thanks
I have a quick question about visa rules for Thailand. I currently hold a DTV Visa for Muay Thai training, but I’m planning a short trip to Thailand for 2 weeks (mainly for Songkran in Chiang Mai). After that, I’ll return to my current country of residence and come back to Thailand in 4 months to use my DTV Visa for a longer stay.
My question is:
- Can I still get the on arrival tourist Visa for this short 2-week trip and save my DTV Visa for later, or will having both visas cause issues at immigration?
- Or should I just use my DTV Visa for the short trip and re-enter Thailand with it later?
I want to avoid any complications with immigration or visa rules. If anyone has experience with this or knows the regulations, I’d really appreciate your advice!
Please can somebody help me on visas I would like to know if I stay in Thailand for 3 months how long before I can go back as I want to live between England and Thailand and what visa I would need. I tried phoning the Thai embassy but can’t get through. Or if someone can give me a email address for the visas thanks.
