Will my 90-day reporting due date change if I report early?

Jun 12, 2025

90-day reporting noob here.

I understand I can go to immigration starting 14 days before my 90 day due date.

If I go 7 days before (for example), will my next 90 day due date be 1) 90 days from the original due date, or 2) from the day I went (83 days from original)?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you report your 90-day residency in Thailand between 14 and 7 days before the due date, your next reporting date will be 90 days from the date you actually reported, not the original due date. You can also report up to 7 days after the due date without incurring a fine.

Remember your first 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamp in to the country and you can do a 90 day report up to 7 days after the due date without a fine

I know someone on a DTV who does his FIRST 90 day report after coming back into the country on the 95th day (6 days late) and that means they don't have to do the second one because the 180 day entry stamp will run out before the due date of the next report

He's had a DTV since the program rolled out (July 2024) and only ever done ONE 90 day report before he exits/re-enters the country to get a new 180 day stamp

Clever timing and good thinking on his part πŸ™‚

that’s smart thank you for sharing. I was wondering about that too, but thought maybe the 2nd 90 days is from the report date only if you report early, not if you report late within the 7 day window. Sounds like it’s 90 day from the report date in all cases

the person who told me travels so much sometimes he's in/out of the country 3 or 4 times in one 90 day period, so he's only done it once or twice where he's been here long enough to file 2 reports

If you go 1 week prior wouldn't it than be a 83 day report instead of a 90 day report πŸ™ƒ
