TLDR : Answer Summary
The question addresses whether shipping personal items to Thailand under a non-immigrant retirement O visa incurs customs taxes. Comments vary, with some suggesting personal use items typically face no tax, particularly when registered under a Thai spouse's name, while others warn of potential taxes, storage fees, and customs valuation. Experiences shared include both positive outcomes and unexpected taxation on personal items.

I shipped from UK, registered with the shipping company and custom forms in my wife's name, with Thai ID. No problems, also used a contact in Thailand.
so did I, still was asked for tax on a pop up tent ffs lol

I guess we were lucky as the shipping agent contacted our Thai contact and negotiated a price for them to see our boxes/goods through customs. If my memory serves me correct 1500 Baht was paid. Everything was inside our house before we arrived.

Not only that you will have to pay tax, Custom will also set the value on the Items, and you will have to pay for storage of the container as long as it is in Custom area!!! 25 % tax on value. I even got a bill after container was received at home for additional storage fee.
yeah that is sound advice. When my Thai wife and I finished working in Bahrain, we shipped a lot of stuff back to Thailand and, because it was all done in my wifeās name, we only paid for the shipping fees and zero tax.
yes but the op is looking for info now not 20 years ago lol I also know some brought lots in and no tax others unlucky and taxed lots, to be safe better not to risk shipping taxable items imho
