TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a Canadian inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a 1-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Thailand without returning to Canada. Responses indicate that there is no 1-year tourist visa available; the maximum duration is a 6-month multiple-entry tourist visa (METV), which must be applied for in Canada. There are no options to extend the stay without returning to Canada.

has helpful replies.

BTW...a holder of a Tourist Visa ...single or multiple entry...are not allowed to work in Thailand under that visa.

Good luck...

Yes Because if I am going to do the process of applying at embassy, Why don't apply for the 1 year instead of 3 months if at the end my goal is to stay long term in Thailand. I don't see any problem to want to apply for 1 year instead of the three months.

On January 24...

You had asked for 90 days ...now wants one year...

"Hello I am Canadian and my 30 days waiver visa is expiring next week. Which is my best option to extend my stay in Thailand for 90 days. Thanks"

Not possible from here in SE Asia

But you can apply for a 6 month METV in Canada

Nope, there isn't. As a Canadian, to get a 6 month multiple entry tourist visa, you'll have to return back to Canada.

But, are you over 50 years old, or marriage, or have a half-Thai child?
