Hello friends

Its my 3rd entry on my dtv visa. The first two was smooth .. nothing at all. But in group i read lot of things that they ask so many things or can deny . . I am on mua thai activity and its been over more than one year now. I read on groups take again some activity or return ticket or cash. I was just scared a little so I prepared return ticket and even carry cash 20k and my condo contract.

I reached bkk airport and. I went to the line i gave my passport and gave dtv not even gave tdac although i have

I just gave passport and dtv printed visa

He stamped it and say thanku . 20 seconds hardly took
Answer summary
The user shares their experience entering Thailand for the third time using a DTV visa, noting that the process was quick and smooth, despite concerns based on group discussions about strict immigration checks. They prepared documentation like a return ticket, cash, and a condo contract but were not asked for anything upon arrival. The comments reflect varying experiences, highlighting concerns especially around entry via Phuket, perceptions about immigration officers' scrutiny based on a traveler's nationality, and general advice regarding preparedness for immigration procedures.

Phuket seems to be the airport where DTV holders are being scrutinized the most.

Ha! Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if people with passports from certain countries are getting an extra long look.

A. Nony Mous never had issues there 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ probably because I’m Latino. For them Europeans are red flag. In Europe the Latino is a red flag. Now you can feel what I feel it in Europe haha

Your dtv visa and tdac are all online. Since you're on visa, only your outgoing airline might ask you about return ticket but usually showing them your visa would satisfy them for you not having one on you. Having the 20k cash is wise in case an over zealous officer wants to pay by the book, though it usually doesn't happen.

TheBatman1234567890 just like they might ask for 20k cash, they might ask for onward travel, that are general tourist requirements and DTV is just a tourist visa.

Most of the issues seem to be with people arriving via Phuket. They have a big problem with illegal workers there, so they are more stringent.

They can ask anything you mentioned, but most times they won't do so.

But you take a risk when you visit the country for different reasons than the purpose of your visa or without the general requirements for all tourists.

There is no requirement to possess 500,000 THB post application. Neither is there a requirement to be currently enrolled upon a qualifying course. DTV validity isn’t conditional in the same way as a Non-O Marriage visa/extension (for example). Consequently, a DTV holder couldn’t (and hasn’t) ever been denied entry for either of those reasons.

keep on dreaming...

Nowhere is any documentation of your fantasy.

The requirements exist and are mentioned, but you are just too stupid to understand that the requirements keep in place after you applied.

With DTV you apply for a visa for a specific purpose, it is valid for that purpose and not for any other purpose.

That is clearly stated on the site when you apply.

How hard can that be to understand?

It looks liuke you belong to the group of people that also needs explanation that when they buy a microwave it should not be used to dry your cat or dog.

Luit van der Linde Immigration would have taken the easy way out by telling you what you wanted to hear (also the safest for themselves because they have no guidance notes to work with). Incidentally, there are no 'views'. Either requirements exist or they don't. If this one did it would be stated at application stage. MFA, Embassies/Consulates, immigration and DTV holders would all be 100% crystal clear in that current enrollment upon a qualifying course (Soft Power) or current employment (Workcation) is essential to obtain entry with a DTV.

Border checks only affect a very low percentage of total visits, so the fact that most people are not checked thoroughly is perfectly normal, compare this to the average speed of a lot of roads where people drive to fast without getting fined.

I am not concerned at all, you don't want to know official rules, you keep acting like the twin of Christopher Killcourse.

Just keep dreaming DTV is the opposite of all other visa and has a complete different set of rules.

I will put you together with Chistopher Killcourse on my blocklist.

FYI I contacted Immigration by email and they confirmed my view.

Your view is completely unrealistic and nowhere documented.

Luit van der Linde Your theory doesn't explain why people happily claim their qualifying course ended ages ago yet they have entered Thailand several times since. If immigration aren't checking for invalid DTVs (invalid according to yourself that is) the question is why not? A few possibilities; 1) Haven't got enough staff available at the time, 2) Can't be bothered, 3) DTV remains valid throughout the 5 year validity period nevertheless. As you appear to be genuinely concerned about this maybe you should be contacting the Thai Bureau of Immigration?

Obviously you can see things that are not there.

In Immigration rules is clearly described that a visa is for a purpose of visit, and that Immigration can check for your visit matching the purpose.

For non-o you agree with this, because tou say it is conditional, for DTV you don't agree with it.

Nowhere is written any exception for DTV that it will loose its requirements once it is issued.

That will not make any sense, but you keep shouting requirements drop the moment the visa is issue, but you cannot show any kind of proof of your fantasy.

Just keep dreaming, visa requirements stay in place during validity unless it is stated different somewhere.

Maybe it is a good idea to put you together with Christopher Killcourse on my blocking list, you two have a lot in common.

As you know, I didn't. Because nobody can view something which isn't there.

Where do you see the difference in description of conditions for non-o which you for some reason seem to accept and the conditions for DTV which you for some completely unclear reason not accept.

As I said, keep on dreaming.

When you remove the last 6 characters of your nickname it would much better fit your behaviour.

Not fantasy but reality. If DTVs were issued upon a conditional basis that applied throughout the five year validity period it would be stated. It isn't.
