I recently received my ‘proof of residence’ certificate in the mail from immigration and it was rejected by the authorities as my passport number had an extra digit on the certificate letter (Chiengwattana immigration error as my application form was correct).
Do I simply take the certificate back to immigration and ask them to amend it or do I need to start the whole application process from the beginning again?
Thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
After receiving a proof of residence certificate with an incorrect passport number, the best course of action is to return to the immigration office where you applied. Bring your original application form as proof and ask them to correct the mistake. If they confirm it’s an error on their part, they should be able to amend it without needing to restart the entire application process.
just remember if you go there with the application form to prove that you were right and they were wrong just do not argue with the officials in any country just do not debate with them just show and say how can they help as it was not your mistake that’s all
