Anyone know about the test that needs to be done pre departure before arriving in Uk ? Can it be an antigen that you buy in Uk and take with you ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers to the UK must show a negative PCR or lateral flow test result taken within two days prior to arriving. PCR or antigen tests are accepted, but results must come with an official certificate. Travelers can take rapid antigen tests at testing centers like Suvarnabhumi Airport or bring test kits from the UK, ensuring they meet certification requirements.

not sure on prices. I left a couple of days ago and only saw waiting times advertised on posters, no prices. You’ll have to Google that mate. Will probably be around the going rates of 1900 antigen and 3800 PCR I would imagine.

The ukgov page has updated rules from today. Best to check uk gov page.

you don’t need to ask all these numpties if you know the answer. Antigen test will do and you can do it at Suvarnabhumi airport. Level 2, just outside the exit doors.

Get a RT-PCR and make sure your passport numbers on there.

They are updating today. Pcr test before departure. And also you need to book your "private" uk test and upload proof of the booking on your "passenger locator form". Think you still get form off gov website.

You can test at suvarnabhumi airport. Level 2, just outside exit doors you will see the test centre

From 4am on Tuesday 7 December anyone aged 12 and over must show a negative PCR or lateral flow test result before travelling to England from abroad. You must take the test in the 2 days before you travel to England.

You must also take a PCR test within 2 days of arriving and self-isolate until you get a negative test result, even if you’re fully vaccinated. Check what you need to do to travel to England from another country.
