I (US Citizen - 51 years old - Male) just got my DTV visa and wanted to share my experience.
I opted for the Muay Thai route and got a 9 month DTV course with FitFac in Bangkok.
I applied via Washington DC on June 1st and got my visa today (June 10). It was a very smooth process. I submitted 3 months of bank statements, a passport photo, a picture of my passport bio page, a picture of my US drivers license and the Muay Thai course documents (provided by FitFac to me). The visa cost was 400 USD.
For arrival and departure dates, I had put in August 1st as my arrival date and April 25th as my departure date (I kept it more than 6 months on purpose as my course is 9 months long).
FWIW, on the Thai visa portal site, it didn't show any changes in status throughout the process. For the past 9 days, it just said "document review stage" and then I got the visa today.
Why Fitfac? I thought they offer a good combo of convenience, unit costs and locations, although they aren't ideal if you want to train as an actual fighter (which I'm not looking to do -- my interest is more in the fitness and strength training aspect).
Lmk if you have any questions (not that I'm an expert but I can tell you about my experience) and see you on the other side.
