What is the process and timeline for applying for a DTV visa from Australia?
Sharing a successful application from Australia.
16th April 2026
Applied for DTV via e visa website in Adelaide Australia to the Canberra embassy. Soft power (Muay Thai 6 month course Evo360 Pattaya)
Keep in mind my application stated my intended arrival date was 26th May 2026. Also flight itinerary confirmed this.
20th April 2026
E visa portal request additional document to support application. I submitted same day very simple. It was a passport copy of my accommodation sponsor where I was staying.
After a few weeks I didn’t get any response and was starting to think maybe my application wouldn’t be approved as it stayed on ‘pending approval’ status for many weeks.
19th May 2026
Application approved. I think the delay was due to my intended arrival date. I was told they like to approve the application a few days before departure.
