TLDR : Answer Summary
The intended date of departure for a visa should generally be within 180 days from the intended date of entry, as that is the maximum stay allowed, including an extension. However, some users suggest filling in a date that reflects the full 5-year validity of the visa, although it may not align with the actual stay limitations.

I filled in the maximum amount which is 5 years. So I disagree that it needs to be 180 days or under. Then again, the visa is over 5 years regardless.

As you know, the visa only allows you in country 180 days (plus 180-day extension). So even with an extension, you would need to depart Thailand within 360 days. That being said, the system doesnt factor in extensions, so should be within 180 days.

To me it is one of the nonsense fields on the form, but just put a date about 175 days from your intended date of entry to be safe.
