I’m planning to apply for the DTV (Soft Power ) in Fukuoka ( or Tokyo, Osaka )

If anyone has applied before, could you please share how long it took and what documents you prepared?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Soft Power) visa application in Japan generally requires careful preparation of documentation and consideration of location, with feedback suggesting that Fukuoka and Osaka provide a friendlier environment compared to Tokyo. A common tip includes ensuring that the course duration is at least 6 months, as this can influence the issuance of a longer visa, such as a 5-year visa, versus a shorter 6-month visa.

Fukuoka and Osaka are much friendlier than Tokyo. You can find several posts about the difficulty of applying in Japan, mainly Tokyo. Make sure you have 6 month plus course and demonstrate your need for a 5 year visa. Japan often issues 6mth visas if they feel you don't need a 5 yr visa.
