TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on what to bring for their first 90-day report at Korat Immigration while on an O-A visa. They mention needing to bring their passport and their girlfriend's proof of address. Additionally, they inquire about potentially extending their stay by securing more covid insurance.

There is a chance they may not be able to extend your visa and can only be done at a border checkpoint.

There was similar case in Phuket recently and they got the insurance but immigration office told them they had to do at airport, which the duly did and got there original stamp extended

Officer explained to them its different branches of immigration (?) Cannot hurt to try though as its a long way from Korat

ok thanks for the heads up on that, we know them well there as have been getting tourist visa's there for about 15 yrs, also i should have stated originally that my visa is from July 29 2021 to July 29 2022, but arrived here Sept 17, lady at Thai Consulate in Canada said no problem just paying for 9 months covid insurance at the time and then getting another 3 months insurance here, but think they really don't know, that is why May 1 is stamped in, starting from July 29-- thanks so much for your quick reply, see you are admin so great job with this group, very helpful

about extending insurance but whether you will get your visa extended is another matter. Michael's advice seems the best. I'm in similar situation, so I would be interested of your outcome.

thanks. Presume you mean at international airport? Not a local , domestic airport ? In my case I entered at BKK but currently my nearest airport is Samui or Surat Thani.

duh what am i on about Samui has international section as well. I have joined ships from there by helicopter

@Mic****
that's good news. Samui is only 1.5 hour ferry away ๐Ÿ‘. Obviously, I'll check fully first, if I decide to extend my entry stamp. Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š

unfortunately Thai consulates and embassies often give out misinformation about immigration rules in Thailand. Theyโ€™re from a different government department and donโ€™t seem to communicate. Youโ€™d be very lucky to get an extension, except a year one. Not sure on the rules in Korat. You might need to fill in a TM47, although many offices just require your passport.
