DTV holders can no longer open a full TrueMoney account, unless they have a Thai driving license or own a condo, existing full accounts are not affected
Answer summary
DTV holders face restrictions on opening full TrueMoney accounts without a Thai driving license or condo ownership. Users discuss the implications for obtaining a new Non-O visa after returning to the US for a short stay, including needing a new visa if they leave Thailand before the end of the 90-day Non-O period. Comments also touch on requirements for extensions based on marriage and the process involved, including bank account stipulations.

Assuming you do not have your own Thai Bank Account in your name only now, then you can only get the Non–O E–Visa Married to Thai Wife from the Thai Embassy in Ottawa or Thai Consulate in Vancouver that has 90 Days Stay inside Thailand

since you don't have a Thai Bank Account, you can only get a Non–O E–Visa Married to a Thai Wife outside Thailand that gives 90 Days Stay

Now, you can also get an in–country Extension of Stay from your local Thai Immigration Office inside Thailand based on « Visiting Thai Wife/Thai Spouse/Thai Child/Thai Family » that has 60 Days Stay inside Thailand

Extensions from your local Thai Immigration Office can only be obtained inside Thailand

Do you already have a Thai Marriage Certificate or Thai Marriage Registration issued from a local District Office inside Thailand?? or, do you only have your Canadian Marriage Certificate now??

if you already have a Thai Marriage Certificate ( คร.2 ) or have a Thai Marriage Registration of your Foreign (Canadian) Marriage Certificate ( คร.22 ), then great

You do know that the Marriage Visa is a 90 day Non-O Visa not the standard 60 day entry visa don't you?

The 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage gets you stamped in for 90 days as the name suggests. There are only 2 extension options available to you

1. A 60 day extension based on "visiting Thai family", it just so happens in this case your family is your wife.

2. A 12 month extension of stay based on marriage. For this you need to open a Thai bank account and deposit a minimum of 400k baht which must be seasoned in the account for 2 months before you can apply for the extension

what if I stay less than 90 days and go back to the states and come back in a few months, will I need to get a new visa?

Let’s just say I got my 90 days non-O visa on Jan 1 and I leave back to the states in March 1 “total 60 days stay” Then I want to come back in November. Do I need to Apple for another 90 day non-O visa?

MagentaZebra5680 Also be aware when you apply for 1 year extension based on marriage you can be under consideration for 1 month while its processed.

MagentaZebra5680 yes of course, a new Non-O unless you can get a 12 month extension on your first visit then get a re-entry permit to return

MagentaZebra5680 Yes. New one. Better go for a year extension (look for all the things you need) when you enter on a non imm. O visa. Also buy a re-entry and then you can do what you mention.
