DTV Visa from Pakistan 🇵🇰 (Workcation)

🌸 Almost Approved 🌸

Had my interview today for DTV in Islamabad. The officer asked me normal questions about what I do, how much I earn.

Then said your bank documents for the 500,000 Baht are not attested. How can I know the authenticity/ genuineness of these documents?

I told him it’s possible to call the bank. (My statements were from Wise).

He said you’ll need to get the statements notarized and then apostilled from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan and then I can scan them in to the evisa portal.

He also offered me the multi entry visa instead that he can approve today. I said no, I’d like the DTV.

From talking to him it felt like all my documents are in order. He was also very helpful in answering all my questions.

I make a good amount of money and my employment is easily verifiable so it was a smooth Q&A nothing too crazy.

Overall it was a positive experience.

I’ll update on if I get the visa once I’ve submitted the apostilled documents.

It’s a hassle to do this but keeping in mind the high number of fake docs people submit, I guess it’s something necessary they have to do in Pakistan.

I wasn’t aware of this requirement or I would’ve brought the apostilled statements.

For anyone else applying as workcation from Pakistan, make sure you apostille your statements.

He did mention if I had my 500K in a local bank, it might be easier? But I’m not 100% sure.

Best of luck.

You can download 2 version of a Wise statement, one is stamped with a signature

You could have just logged into your banking app and showed him the balance?

The problem is that Wise is NOT a bank, even though there have been reports of people having Wise accounts accepted at some embassies

Wise is a complete bank. Just not a brick and mortar one

Anonymous participant my salary + bonuses etc go into Wise. And a lot of money is there because currency in PKR devalues quite fast.

So I don’t keep a lot in my local bank (like 10K USD worth)

I also thought Wise would be easiest for them to verify as it’s a European bank and they can just call or email them. I provided 6 months in my portal application and I brought 1-year statement to my interview.

Anonymous participant That's great! If you could get the statement notarised by a local lawyer, that might help your cause, too. Anything to further substantiate your claims. Add details about your company, especially if it's MNC. Mine just so happen to have Wikipedia, and Linkedin where it shows it's got thousands of employees, etc. It doesn't matter if you go overboard, more is more. So hopefully they don't have to ask for more docs, and you won't have to stay long.

*wait for long

Anonymous participant I got approved with digital bank (HyperWallet) so it's b*llocks that Wise wouldn't be approved. If anything, it's the Pakistani part that makes it harder (I'm sorry guys! It's just as bad for Filipinos, we just need to prove we ain't one of those)

Hyperwallet also isn't a bank, it's a payment system

Doesn't matter. My visa got approved.

That's fair point. Sorry for the rather awful response from my end. Maybe it helped that I did provide alternative funding (certificate of deposit with another bank), just to be sure. But there is literally no activity in that bank. I also provided proof about the company (Linkedin, Wikipedia, etc) and reiterated that I will not take any local employment. I honestly think that cover letters have some weight, too. I'm sure Wise would be acceptable if they provide a longer timeframe, include invoices, contracts, literally anything to help supplement the financial capacity claims. Heck, add land titles if you got them.

Anonymous participant no its a money services business. Not the same thing.

Couldn't they just ask you to login right there and then and show them?

it’s Pakistan. No laptops or phones allowed in the enclave where the embassy is. Due to security issues. I would’ve loved to bring my laptop for exactly this reason and I told the visa officer this as well.

Anonymous participant sis* 😆

Yes will do.

I think I might be the first. Visa officer said no one from Pakistan Embassy has been given one yet 😅

Anonymous participant If it doesn't work out, come to Hanoi. They're far more empathetic / less bureaucratic.

I heard as a Pakistani if I apply from another embassy they ask you to produce a residence certificate or document. You cannot apply DTV as a tourist in any country other than Pakistan 😩

I was just in Vietnam and didn’t apply because of this 😔
Tammi *****
Anonymous participant Aww, didn't know about that sorry to hear.

Good luck. It probably woukd have been easier with local bank but once you have Wise certified it looks like you are good to go.
