Any suggestions for Safe Deposit Boxes for foreigners that don't require a huge one time-charge or a fee to start the annual rental?
Also any advice on opening foreign currency deposit accounts in banks? (USD and GBP)
Thanks!

After you open a regular account with Bangkok Bank, if you have a legitimate need for a Foreign Currency Deposit account, a FCD, you make an initial deposit of US$1000, or $1000 in another currency, not in baht. Then as long as the balance doesn't drop below $250 there is no fee. If the balance does drop below that amount there is a $10 a month fee. It is not easy to open a FCD now, and you can not do it on any tourist visa anymore. You need a legitimate reason, and long term visa extension to do it.

Sadly no - I am told Krungsri will bump you up to VIP level if you deposit THB5m and keep it there for a few days - that apparently allows you to open a safety box

Do you have a Wise account yet? Good rates...but some fees. Can exchange many currencies.
