In Thailand, several apps allow for QR code payments. Some popular options include:
1. **Kasikorn Bank** - Offers a temporary tourist account and an app for QR code payments, highly recommended for trust and functionality.
2. **True Money Wallet** - Widely used but primarily for non-personal QR codes; a secondary verification allows personal code scanning.
3. **Wise** - Recently enabled QR payments for residents on a long-term visa, but users must check specific eligibility.
4. **TAGTHAi** - Discussed for its usefulness, although some users have experienced limitations in top-up methods.
5. **Various Crypto Apps** - These can facilitate payments to both personal and business QR codes, though options may be limited depending on the vendor.
Users should note that a Thai bank account may enhance their ability to use these apps effectively.

Kasikorn Bank (the green one) offers a temporary 'tourist account'.
You should check which branches allow for opening for such accounts- but in brief:
you deposit money to a new account you open with them (not an actualy thai bank account), and then given access to their app where you can user prompt pay and scan QR codes.
K-bank is one of the largest banks in thailand and you can trust it, i would check twice before trying 3rd pary applications.
Russian bank Sber under hardest Western sanctions can be used to pay via qr in China, Vietnam and Thailand. your Western useless banks will never give you this opportunity
I had this, didn't rate it at all. You have to use a kiosk to top up. Bank cannot top the card up for you. I topped up at airport. After that there was no kiosk in my area to top up and bank said they cannot top it up
sorry but what is meant by a kiosk? I mean you can transfer money through 7-11 for a fee, too. I'm a bit confused. Makes somehow no sense to me. Why make the effort to establish something for tourist if they can't top it up. But the ATM card you can get at any Kasikorn bank?
yes thats what I thought. But went in bank and they said no. There was not a kiosk to to up in my area only the bank. So a waste of time. Other than that it worked very well
