Can anyone recommend a good car rental in Bangkok. The big companies charge ridiculous prices. Just wondering if anyone has any positive experiences with thai companies

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats recommend exploring local Thai car rental companies to save money compared to major international firms. Suggestions include Thai Rent a Car, with monthly rates and reasonable deposits, and local options like Highway Auto. One user mentioned a good experience with Hertz for a rental deal in Phuket. It's also advised to shop around and possibly have a local assist with bookings.

Wife tried all of rental companies and was best deal. Shop around and preferably let someone Thai do it.
