Aspen Suites Hotel Sukhumvit 2, not too bad. It's a couple blocks down the Soi from Sukhumvit. Decent breakfast

Thanks everyone. Andy: I'm getting older, I'm there for knee replacement. I know it sounds crazy: but I would like a somewhat quieter place, but near the hospital with now stairs. Thanks for your advice. Once FB is OK.

Understand, for sure. Don't know if you've looked on google maps, but it can show you the hotels around Bumrungrad and the distance. Then easy to check out each property! My Dad was in his 80's when he had his knee replaced, he aced it! I'm sure you will too. I've been to Bumrungrad a few times to see different doctors. Have been really impressed with the competency, service, and price. (much more so than here in the states)

I recently stayed at

Chatrium Residence Sathon

It appears to be about 20 minutes for your hospital. I found it to be comfortable and reasonably priced. Its not walking distance to anything but it's a short taxi ride to everywhere.

All the other hotels I use in BKK are cheap and not particularly comfortable, if you need those kinds of recommendations?

I believe you can short-term rent apartments at building next to Bumrungrad (Polen Chit Garden or something like that).

The Best Western is another option - but it may be a bit more pricey.

I had a hip replacement some years ago and was back home very quickly. Only 2 nights in hospital. Not sure I'd have coped with a hotel. I'll be needing the other one done soon I suspect.

I was desperately needing the operation. Mine was in UK and they didn't diagnose the problem for ages then had to go on waiting list. Nothing but jagged edges on the ball joint, mega painful. Pain disappeared immediately on operation, just the normal recovery to cope with then. Few weeks on crutches
