Hello. In 2021-2 had a covid visa extension that had been converted(?) from a non-b. Now attempting to return as tourist for 3rd time within 6 months and then soon to convert to non-b. US citizen arriving from US. Should I buy tourist visa or obtain visa-exemption upon arriving? Perhaps good idea to have 20k baht, proof of onward travel? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering returning to Thailand as a tourist for the third time in six months after previously holding a COVID visa extension converted from a non-B visa. They are contemplating whether to purchase a tourist visa or rely on visa exemption upon arrival, while also wondering if it's advisable to have 20,000 baht and proof of onward travel. A comment suggests that obtaining a tourist visa could be safer due to potential entry issues.
Tourist visa is always a better choice if there's any doubt. Still no guarantees but that's where the 3 proofs might be able to help if they look for an easy way to deny entry.
Or they might not even give it a second look. It's impossible to know
