In little help good Sir, I was told by immigration 4 weeks ago, they will not process a non O 90 day at Udon Thani, but ok have now been advised to go to Sakon Nakhon , and apply there as that is the provenance we live in. 1st question do you think this a good thing to do NOW. As I have no home in the U.K. Anymore and wanted to live here, if yes. What will I need to meet the requirements. Or am I better getting a retirement as I am 58, any advice will be greatly welcome xx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is exploring options for visa application in Thailand, having been advised to apply for a Non-O visa in Sakon Nakhon due to unsuccessful attempts in Udon Thani. They seek advice on whether to proceed with this application, given their current situation without a home in the UK and their age of 58, which also opens up the possibility for a retirement visa.

GO talk to the immigration officers at the Sakhon Nakhon office and see what they say about processing an in country Non-O visa.

Keep in mind IF you are on the "amnesty" (meaning your current stamp ran out and you're here without a stamp right now) you can't get an in country Non-O visa for any reason at the offices that issue them.

You need real days left on your current stamp not the amnesty days to do it

IF you're on amnesty you might as well just sit tight, enjoy the time and when the borders/thai consulates open up go and get a Non-O visa then.

A "Non-O" visa is for "other visas". This includes:

-Supporting a half-Thai child

-Being a trailing spouse

- Being over 50+

Also, getting a visa and getting an extension of stay is different. Are you trying to get a new visa, or an extension of stay?
