When leaving Thailand on a non-b, at Savannkhet, with the intent to return with a visa exemption, is there a minimum time to wait after passing through the Laos border to return back to Thailand? I had a friend a few months ago say he just went and drank a coffee and came back. Is that safe? Risk of being denied visa exemption if returning too soon?

I've only used one visa exemption and that was 3 years ago. The rest of my time in Thailand had been a non-b.

Not risk waiting for any changes in Thailand and just head back in on a visa exemption immediately as to not risk it.

I've only used the Chong Mek border which is walk in-walk out. The longest bit was waiting 10 mins to get the Laos visa put in my passport

There is no time limit to stay in Laos, I went direct to stamp out yesterday, stayed less then 1 minute but waited 40 minutes on the bus to go back over the bridge to Thailand.
