TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around experiences with hotel transfer services offered by Agoda for travel from Phuket airport to hotels. Several users shared their insights, noting that hotel transfers can be convenient, but they also come with varying costs, typically around 700 to 800 baht. Some travelers suggested pre-booking directly with the hotel to avoid hassles, while others raised concerns about pricing discrepancies compared to taxi services. Additionally, one user mentioned difficulties accessing transfer options on the Agoda app.

Apparently the TAXI MAFIA have been reported to the police by the honest taxi drivers but the police don't want to know. The taxi mafia are ruthless to the honest taxi drivers.

Try a different site. There are plenty of reasonable taxis or private cars taking you to your hotel pre booked and pre paid online. Less than $20usd depending on final destination.

Prebook with hotel not worth any hassle. I still had to wait 30 minutes for mine

Normally I think you should use the hotel transfer. Will charge you 800, they send the link and is very easy.

First book hotel and they will guide you with the process

I would just confirm I'd be the only one in the vehicle, to avoid any contact with a potentially positive person and end up getting thrown in isolation for 10 days
