Hi,

Apologies for the trivial question. I just wondered if it’s okay to reuse last year’s photos for a second extension of marriage?

It’s not a big deal, but I made loads of copies last year. Also, anything that saves a little time on the colossal amount of paperwork would be a welcome shortcut.

It’s the same home, same living room and same bedroom. Neither of us have changed our appearance significantly.

Of course, I will retake the photos if there is any chance of failure. Just hoping someone might say ‘I’ve been using the same photos for the last ten years!’ The list of requirements I have from the office in Udon Thani does not say how recent the photos need to be.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired whether they could reuse photos from last year's marriage visa extension for a second extension, citing concerns about paperwork and the same living situation. Various comments provided mixed experiences: while some users recommended taking new photos (typically not older than six months) to avoid potential issues and delays, others shared that they successfully reused older photos without any problems. Given these differing opinions, it's best to consider the specific requirements of the local immigration office and err on the side of caution by providing recent photos.

I'm shutting this post down.

1. Generally, they want pictures no older then 6 months.

2. Different immigration offices have different rules.

If the immigration office accepts pictures older then 6 months, great! However, some immigration offices don't accept it, which may result in a verbal rejection of the application. if you're close to the due date, this may result in delays and overstay late fees as you're getting new pictures.

Second marriage extension - much smoother than your first one. I’ll predict no problems for you.

Just used 4 years old photos for my 16 years old son - no problem (and in that age it’s a big difference) and I’m also using my old photos where I had 20 Kilo more - never had any question

I've been called on reusing photos, so I'd agree with, "better safe than sorry"

555!

I’ve re-used 2 photos, both 5 years old, for the past 5 years

I’ve used the same photos for the last 7 years! (Nackon Si Thammarat),, no problems

Mark... I'm in exactly same position as you....

I think it's best to have new photo's..

You don't want a rejection just because of photos...

I've used 2 year old photos with no problems at all, same reason as you.

You won't have any problems with 1 year old photos, so long as your hair etc is basically the same in person.

I would not recommend doing that...

Mark Taylor. Do not even wear the same shirt as last year! My friend was questioned over that. He has a football shirt from Australia which he just happened to be wearing both times a year apart. He was finally accepted after much pleading because his hair was slightly longer in the later photo. Always remember Thai immigration are very anal. Don't tempt them.
